Chapter 15: Thug

I had been going crazy trying to figure out what was wrong with my wife. It’s like she was going through the change or some shit. One minute I’m the best husband in the world, and the next I’m the worst husband in the world. I admit I’m a rough ass nigga, but at the same time, she’s known that. It’s like Tahari is dreaming that one day I will wake up a soft ass nigga. I’m sorry, but that shit will never happen because they don’t call me Thug for nothing. I’ve been called that for forever. I’m a thug ass nigga, full of passion that makes life like a paradise, with many mansions, that’s created a dope ass legacy. I’ve been this way since we met, so I don’t understand what the hell she looking for from a nigga.

I’m so pissed at Yah-Yah’s actions because the shit sent us backwards. During our little getaway, we had reconnected, and shit was cool. I didn’t mean to be selfish by telling her not to get on Yah-Yah. A nigga just didn’t want to discuss the shit any further. This is the second fucking time Yah-Yah has put her self in danger behind a nigga. As a father that shit is so disappointing because it makes me wonder where the fuck I failed at. I’ve spoiled my daughters rotten and given them whatever they want, but in the process of that, I don’t think I’ve ever taught them about men. I guess I’ve always thought because I was that nigga the streets called Thug that no one would ever even look at them or fuck with them that way. Fathers never think about their daughters being sexually active, but their sons being sexually active is like a right of passage. I never prepared myself for the life we lead now. I’m used to babysitting AK’s, not grandkids. Don’t get me wrong I love being a damn grandfather, but just a damn minute ago I was finding out I was the father of three-year-old twins. Now they’re grown with kids of their own. Excuse me, but this shit still sounds crazy as fuck. Outside of that, I have Kaine and Kash running around in the streets like they’ve lost their fucking minds, even though I distinctly told their asses to lay the fuck low. Tahari thinks she has it bad being a mother, but I have it bad too trying to keep these kids in line. The shit is not easy at all. I don’t play no games in the streets and niggas know not to test my gangster. However, these fucking kids stay trying me.

Although I didn’t feel like I had done anything to Tahari, I knew that it was only right for me to take one for the team. I can talk all the shit that I want to, but at the end of the day, I can’t function without my Boss Lady. A nigga could never get used to sleeping without her stubborn ass.
